For a lot of my clients I provide multiple design services. It usually starts with either a website or print project and develops to include the other. One example is Berwick Coates, a retired teacher and lecturer, historian and author. I was first commissioned to produce a WordPress website where Berwick shares his passion for history, writing and teaching.
Pleased with the design of the website, I was asked if I could design a book jacket. The book is based on his experiences of National Service and is one of many books he has published. The brief was to produce something largely typographic to which I included Berwick’s regiment badge.
Roll on a few months and Deus Le Volt, a medieval thriller set at the time of the first crusade, was ready for its jacket. This time the designs was created with some photo library images and PhotoShop work.
