Branding / WordPress Website Design / Information Graphics
Ford-a-Skip provides domestic and commercial skip hire services, helping customers find the right waste disposal solution for their needs.
Working alongside the client's marketing consultant, I helped give the business a more professional and consistent visual identity, before applying that refreshed branding to a redesigned WordPress website.
The project brought together brand development, website design and bespoke graphics to make the company's services clearer and easier to understand.

01 / THE CHALLENGE
Skip hire might appear straightforward, but there is quite a lot for a potential customer to consider.
Different skip sizes suit different jobs, restrictions apply to the types of waste that can be disposed of, and customers need to understand the booking and collection process.
The existing branding needed a more professional and consistent appearance, while the website needed to communicate this information more clearly and present the business in a way that would inspire confidence.
Working with the marketing consultant, the aim was to bring greater clarity and consistency to both the company's visual identity and its online presence.
02 / THE APPROACH
I started by developing the existing branding into a more consistent and professional identity, creating a clearer visual foundation for the website and supporting graphics.
With that direction established, I worked alongside the marketing consultant on the redevelopment of the WordPress website.
An important part of the project was presenting practical information in a way that customers could understand quickly, rather than relying entirely on written explanations.
This included developing bespoke illustrations, icons and diagrams to support the website content.
03 / THE DESIGN WORK
The branding was refreshed to create a more professional and recognisable presentation, with a consistent visual approach that could be carried through to the website and supporting materials.
The new website was designed to present Ford-a-Skip's services clearly, helping visitors understand what the company offers and how to take the next step.
The layout brings together service information, supporting graphics and clear routes towards making an enquiry or booking a skip.
One of the most useful aspects of the project was the creation of custom diagrams and illustrations.
These included visual guides to different skip sizes, graphics illustrating the booking process, and information to help customers understand what can and cannot be placed in a skip.
By giving this information a visual treatment consistent with the branding, it became an integral part of the website's design rather than simply supporting decoration.
04 / THE OUTCOME
The completed work brought the company's branding, website and customer information together in a more consistent and professional way.
The refreshed identity provides a clearer visual foundation, while the website uses purposeful design and bespoke graphics to explain the company's services and guide visitors towards making contact or booking.
For me, the project is a good example of how effective design goes beyond appearance. It's about understanding what a business needs to communicate and finding the clearest way to do it.
Whether you need a new WordPress website, a more consistent visual identity or graphics that make complex information easier to understand, I'd be pleased to discuss your project.
